Audition material

• No audition needed: SYSO musicians in Debut, Junior, or Youth Symphony Orchestra, or Seattle Conservatory of Music musicians who submitted audition videos for the 2023-24 season.

• Everyone else needs to audition:
• Two scales; one major and one minor (3-4 octaves for strings, 2-3 octaves for winds/brass, and 2 octaves for percussion).
• Two contrasting selections from solo repertoire or orchestral/chamber music repertoire. One selection should be lyrical to showcase musicality, and one selection should showcase rhythm and technical ability.
• Consult your private teacher to determine the ideal repertoire for our audition.
