Weekly Private Clarinet Lessons

Description:  Most students take this package. Weekly one on one instruction, plus two free group classes and two free recitals each year!  This is the package for students who want to really master their instrument and experience the fun of being a fantastic player!  A consistent day and time in the schedule will be reserved for you. If at least 24 hours notice is given, canceled lessons may be rescheduled or students may do a video exchange with the teacher.

Scheduling: Students up through 12th grade take at least one lesson per week, except for a few holidays and optional days.  For adults, lessons will be scheduled in consultation with the instructor.  Tuition is charged at the end of each month for the following month.

Occasional Private Clarinet Lessons

Description: One on one instruction.  This is an option for students who need help on some specific skills, want a check-up on their basic skills, want help preparing for a test/performance/audition or cannot commit to weekly lessons. Students may attend group classes and recitals for an additional fee.

Scheduling: is by instructor’s availability, so there is no guarantee of having the same day or time for those who want to take more than one lesson.  Lesson fee is due by the beginning of the lesson.

Video Exchange Lessons

Description: Personalized instruction.  Students send a video of themselves playing all their material and asking questions.  The instructor sends back a video lesson which includes playing examples, any needed changes to the music, clarinet techniques, any needed pdf's, new instruction and the next assignment.  Students benefit from being able to listen to the playing examples as many times as they need.  Videos are exchanged privately through YouTube.  Lesson length represents the amount of time the instructor will take preparing the instructional video.  Lesson length may be adjusted in consultation with the instructor.

Group Lessons

Description:  Find one or more partners and share lessons.  Learn how to play in a group, while building friendships and having fun!  You will want to take lessons with someone who is at a similar level.  Lesson partners can be clarinet, saxophone, bass clarinet or alto clarinet players. Flute and oboe also accepted for first year players.  If all partners are clarinetists, we will work out of the same books as in private lessons.  If non-clarinet players are included, we will work out of band books.  Additional songs, such as popular children's songs and movie themes are available either way.  Take either 45 or 60 minutes long.  Students may attend group classes and recitals for an additional fee.
